Jayne Mancip • sound healer & holistic health coach
I am Jayne 45 years old, French, Holistic Health Coach graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York (IIN) and Sound Therapist, British Academy of Sound Therapy – United Kingdom).
Indeed, I develop and share my practice thanks to creation of workshops and collaborations with other practitioners such as Yoga, Breathwork, Innerdance and Conscious Dance. This in Central America since October 2021 (Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, but also London, Paris, Bali).
I combine the coaching session with Sound Therapy and the connection to movement, particularly in the Conscious Dance* workshops.
Sound Healing has incredible effects on the body (tension, pain, mind) and calms the “monkey mind”. Ideal for releasing stress, anxiety and energy blockages. It’s incredible support for boosting creativity and concentration.
I have had a career as a DJ for 20 years. I discovered Sound Meditation in London a few years ago. I am grateful to share with those around me what was born from this beautiful passion..
*Conscious Dance, A form of creative expression, dance awakens the emotions. It facilitates the expression of feelings and allows an inner journey through one’s being, particularly with the focus on breathing.
Meditation Benefits • why meditate ?
From the Latin “Meditare” which means “to contemplate”, meditation is a practice which consists of training the mind so that it frees itself from incessant thoughts and soothes the mind from accumulated mental fatigue.
Meditating means using certain concentration and relaxation techniques in order to concentrate on yourself and thus silence your inner hubbub. It’s a break from our stressful, noisy and fast-paced daily lives. It is being able to sit down, stop and observe what is happening within us.
The practice of meditation is above all about training yourself to maintain your attention with a “gentle will”. while concentrating on your breathing. It is an activity of letting go where we accept that thoughts pass by, like clouds, thus creating a space of caring mental connection.
Meditation is also a spiritual practice which serves above all to be truly in contact with oneself and ultimately with “the whole universe”.
We invite participants in a calm and comfortable setting. We create a safe space that invites relaxation and well-being.
Meditation Benefits• what are the benefits ?
- Reduce stress and anxiety
Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation in reducing psychological and physiological stress. This could be explained by its action on negative thoughts. Indeed, many thoughts are harmful (ruminations, catastrophic scenarios, mental representations that have nothing to do with reality, etc.), these thoughts create what we call “internal stress”. Practicing meditation can help dispel these thoughts and reduce stress. This is why, when practiced daily, meditation is a powerful stress reliever.
- Prevent cardiovascular disorders
Beneficial effects have been observed with regard to blood pressure.
- Improve concentration and attention skills
The practice of meditation allows you to stay focused for a long time and effectively on a task or problem to be solved. When a person is highly focused, their gamma frequency brain waves naturally synchronize and amplify.
Sound Bath Vs Sound Healing
Sound Therapy
This practice for therapeutic purposes (also called sonology) is treatment through sound. Sound therapy uses sound vibrations to promote relaxation, balance and physical healing as well as the release of emotional burdens.
Sonotherapy is sound and vibration therapy. It uses several instruments to relieve many ailments.
Sound therapy uses sound and vibrations to bring relaxation and rebalance the natural electromagnetic field emitted by our body. The body absorbs vibrations. However, we know that certain vibrations have physical, but also psychological, therapeutic virtues.
In sound therapy, the instruments used are particularly rich in harmonics. Their sounds and vibrations act on different waves which travel through the body. Some will allow you to work on the physical body, others on the nervous system, still others on the emotions.
The mechanism is always the same: the passage of vibrations unblocks areas of tension. “The choice of this or that vibration will depend on the state of the person and their problems. For example, Tibetan bowls induce a state of deep relaxation by acting on brain waves.
Sound Bath Vs Sound Therapy
The benefits of sound therapy are therefore multiple.
- Reduce stress, let go
- Decrystallize and release tensions, blockages, physical pain
- Re-energize the immune, lymphatic system and vital energy
- Regenerate the cells (made up of water, they resonate with the instruments)
- Release emotional burdens
- Cleanse the energy centers
- Find the connection with yourself
By releasing emotional burdens, sound therapy also helps certain people during difficult periods in their lives such as bereavement, a breakup, etc.
Sound therapists use several instruments that emit more or less powerful sounds and vibrations with the use of Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, tuning forks, chimes, gongs but also the voice as a healing instrument. During a session, these instruments are distributed around the person or can be placed directly on the patient’s body.
How does a sound therapy session take place?
The progress of a sound therapy session depends on each therapist.
An individual session generally lasts a little over an hour.
It begins with a discussion time of approximately 15 minutes during which the sound therapist explains what sound therapy consists of (if it is a first session) and focuses on the person’s profile (their physical state and psychological, her problems) and asks her what she would like to work on during the session.
During the treatment, the person lies on their back or stomach.
The treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes. The instruments are placed on the body or distributed all around it.
“There are several protocols depending on the person’s problems.
At the end of the treatment, the sound therapist leaves the person lying down for a few minutes, time for them to slowly return to reality. A sound therapy session can in fact be experienced as a timeless moment where you refocus on yourself while forgetting everything else.
For whom?
Sound therapy is aimed at everyone, children and adults, and adapts to all types of physical, psychological and emotional conditions. The vibration intensity of the instruments is adapted to the profile of the person. The vibrations are less powerful when it is a child or a baby of course.
