As the visionary founder of Sound Sisters, a collective of female artists and activists dedicated to promoting gender equality through music, Mariama has been shaking the foundations of the electronic scene with her powerful beats and even more powerful message: women belong at the center of change.

In 2025, Mariama is taking her commitment to new heights — quite literally.
She will attempt a world record DJ set in a hot air balloon, sending music into the sky in support of the Tadamoon Festival, a one-of-a-kind event dedicated to women’s rights and supporting the Moroccan association INSAF, which defends single mothers and protects young girls from child labor and early marriage.
This symbolic and audacious act embodies the spirit of both Sound Sisters and Tadamoon: breaking boundaries, defying gravity, and uplifting others.
